The Book 101 Review Interview

Daniel Lucas is an avid reader and literary advocate who has dedicated over forty years to studying the written word. He is the creator and host of Book 101 Review, a digital show where he spotlights impactful stories and independent authors. Known for his remarkably warm and supportive style, Daniel guides guests through deep conversations with his signature praise, “Well said, well said!” and “We salute you, we celebrate you.”

I was honored to appear as Daniel’s guest, where I shared the deeply personal journey behind my novel, When the World Was Broken. We discussed how a forgotten box of letters revealed a harrowing Holocaust correspondence between my grandmother and her cousins trapped in Nazi Berlin. We talked about how my understanding of psychology helped me imagine their experiences and honor their legacy through historical fiction.

Daniel is a highly gifted interviewer, listener, and encourager. He helped me feel supported as I shared the vulnerable parts of my family’s history and the immense courage of my grandmother. It was a delightfully meaningful conversation.
